The white picket fence is now a gaited community
Plymouth wagon now an SUV
The stay-at-home mom
Is now an immigrant nanny
Who left her own children behind
In a country that is racked with war
Poverty and so much more
Her country went bankrupt
Pursuing development
Pursuing the American Dream

So wake up from that American Dream
It’s a nightmare for most of us
We have to wake up from that American Dream
It’s a nightmare for the world

The American Dream is fading away
“Good riddance” is what I say
Working together
Like sister and brother
We’ll build another new dream
Where no one need to be ahead of the rest
No one has to be left in the dust
Embracing simplicity
Building community
